About us

AROC Sport Mission: to provide a fun and challenging outdoor experience and promote the development of teamwork, strategy and fitness through adventure racing.

AROC Sport was established in early 2003 by the two of us - Tom Landon-Smith and Alina McMaster.

We have competed in numerous adventure races both internationally and locally. Racing as Team AROC we have won the Geoquest, Cairns Eco-Adventure, and Maximum Adventure Races in Australia. We came 2nd in the 2003 Subaru Primal Quest and 1st in the Chicago Wild Onion Urban 24 hour Adventure Race. We have placed in the top 5 in various Eco-Challenge events and 3rd in the New Zealand Southern Traverse event. We were both previously members of the Australian Cross-Country Ski Team and are the 2003 Australian 24 hour rogaining champions (first time to be held by a mixed team).

We are very excited about what we do. We want to share this excitement and the secret of our success and show you just how much fun you can have through our adventure racing events. The fun and fitness achieved through outdoor challenges offers new insights for advancing ourselves at work and play, rekindling health and happiness, and enjoying the great outdoors Australian style. Ultimately, the more we discover what we can do, the better the world around us becomes. Outdoor challenges are the best way we have found to make a difference.

Our Business

AROC Sport is an outdoor event management business which specialises in:

Adventure races. We run a wide spectrum of events from short adventure events (2.5 to 5.5 hours in length) aimed at providing novices an opportunity to try adventure racing to longer 10 hour events and 24 hour events to test your AR skills.
Corporate events emphasing team building, fitness development, work/lifestyle balance and fun for participants.
Seminars and motivational speeched based on our experiences in international adventure racing, training, fitness and lifestyle.
Programs for kids – adventure style.
